The most awaited cars of recent times, the 2020 Mahindra Thar finally breaks cover. Thar was spotted many times and raising our hope. The second-generation Mahindra Thar is here after a decade. The Mahindra Thar will launch on October 2. The bookings will also start the same day. 2020 Thar promises comes with off-road capabilities also the comfort and convenience of daily commutes.
The second-generation Thar is significantly bigger than its predecessor, but will retain its boxy silhouette. 2020 Mahindra Thar retains the circular headlamps. The LED DRLs gives the Thar an exceptional look and it’s not exagerated too. It gets LED tail lights, tailgate-mounted spare wheel and new 18-inch alloy wheels finished in black. We also get to see Thar engraving on the wing mirrors and LED taillights. While it retains the same design as its predecessor. It is more luxurious to make it a more lifestyle oriented car.
There will be six colours to choose from – Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Napoli Black, Aquamarine, Galaxy Grey and Rocky Beige. 2020 Mahindra Thar comes with a new ladder-frame chassis. It also has all-new suspension, including the dramatic shift from a rigid, non-independent leaf-spring rear suspension to a multi-link setup. This will enhance the comfort for the ride.
Mahindra has added more creature comforts to the new-gen Thar. Well- bolstered seats and ergonomically placed controls, sees the cabin take a big leap when compared to it’s predecessor. Dashboard has a seven-inch ‘drizzle-resistant’ infotainment screen. The infotainment is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Interior has a better plastic quality. The interior also contains

Under the hood the Thar gets petrol as well as diesel engines. The petrol is a 2-litre unit which churns out 150 bhp and 320 Nm while the diesel is a 2.2 litre unit making 130 bhp. · The car also gets new gearbox options: 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission & 6-speed manual transmission mated to an authentic manual shift-on-the-fly 4×4 transfer case. Mahindra Thar will come in two variants. The AX Series will only be available with manual transmission on both the petrol and diesel. The LX Series will see the diesel get a manual and automatic transmission. The petrol will only be available with a automatic.
