Hyundai Venue has been launched with a new BS6 1.5-litre Diesel engine. Hyundai Venue 1.5-Litre Diesel has been launched at Rs 8.09 Lakh. The Hyundai Venue 1.5-Litre Diesel is Rs 30,000 costlier than the model it replaces. The new Venue 1.5 diesel has also been listed at the company’s official website. Hyundai replaced the old 1.4-litre diesel unit with BS6 ready 1.5-litre U2 CRDi engine. It is the same engine as seen on Kia Seltos, and even the newly launched Creta however, belts out different power figures.
The Venue 1.5-litre diesel makes 100hp of power and 240Nm of torque. The gearbox is a 6-speed manual. For the Venue diesel, there is no automatic option, something Hyundai might introduce at a later date. The mileage has not been clarified yet.
The majority of Hyundai’s diesel range will now run on the same 1.5-litre BS6 diesel. In the Creta, it makes 115hp of power whereas in the upcoming Elantra, it is expected to make a slightly higher number. The same 6-speed manual is also shared with all the engines. The state of tune the engine is running in the Venue, is its lowest yet. While the base variant E with BS 6 1.5-litre engine has been priced at ₹8.09 lakh (ex-showroom), the top-end model SX(O) running on the same engine has been given a price tag of ₹11.39 lakh (ex-showroom India).
