Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the Honda Dio at Rs 59,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The powertrain of the Honda Dio has been upgraded to BS6 norms, but this is not the only update Honda Dio has got. Dio now comes with a range of features and style updates. The Honda Dio offers two variants, that is, Standard and Deluxe. Honda Dio BS6 gets a 6-year warranty package. The 3-year standard warranty as usual and an additional 3-year optional extended warranty.
The Standard variant is offered at Rs 59,990, while the Deluxe variant is priced Rs 63,340. The Standard variant is being offered in four colour options — Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Candy Jazzy Blue, Sports Red and Vibrant Orange — and the Deluxe trim is available in three — Matte Sangria Red Metallic, Dazzle Yellow Metallic, and Matte Axis Grey Metallic.
Mechanically, the new Honda Dio is now powered by the improved Bharat Stage VI compliant 110 cc engine with programmed fuel injection, and Honda Eco Technology (HET), powered by Honda’s Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) system, along with slightly updated design and features. Honda’s Enhanced Smart Power system is said to optimise energy output by maximising efficient combustion and minimising friction. Powering Honda Dio BS6 is a 110cc, PGM-FI, fan-cooled, 4-stroke, SI engine that develops 7.8hp and 9Nm of peak torque. The patented ACG starter motor ensures silent and jolt-free start. The side stand indicator with engine cut-off feature restricts the rider from starting the motor while the side stand is engaged.
The new Honda Dio BS6 now gets a telescopic suspension at the front with a 12-inch wheel and 130mm drum brake. At the rear, you will find a 3-step adjustable spring-loaded hydraulic with a 10-inch wheel and 130mm drum. There is also CBS (Combi-Brake System) with equalizer. The wheelbase has now increased by 22mm to 1,260mm.
The new fully digital meter in the Honda Dio gives details like real-time mileage, average mileage, distance to empty and due service. The scooter gets a new engine start/stop switch, passing switch and an integrated dual function switch for accessing the under-seat storage space and opening the fuel lid, which is now placed externally. The Dio comes with additional features like redesigned LED position lamp, new DC LED headlamp, split grab rail and new logo.
The Honda Dio full-digital speedometer gets a long list of information with three new real-time informatics like range, which displays the distance to empty readings, average fuel efficiency, as well as real-time fuel efficiency. The instrument console also gives out other details like the total trip, clock and service due indicator.
